Direct Patient Care can seem similar to a concierge practice. Both give you direct access to the physician, but membership fees for a concierge practice are much higher and they charge your insurance or Medicare plan each time you see the doctor. 

Insurance and Direct Patient Care work together to cover your healthcare needs. It’s a bit like having house insurance. Even though you take out a policy each year, you wouldn’t claim when you need to fix a leaky faucet or touch up the paintwork, because that just wouldn’t make sense, right? 

It’s the same with Direct Patient Care. You save your highly deductible wrap-around insurance plan for emergency situations such as hospitalization or surgery. Your Direct Women’s Health membership will cover your day-to-day, routine health needs.

Yes. You need only sign a one-time waiver declaring that neither you nor your doctor will directly bill Medicare for our services. Medicare will still cover any laboratory testing, imaging, medications, or hospitalizations prescribed by Direct Women’s Health.

Unfortunately, no. Your subscription is not yet classed as a “medical expense” in most states and is therefore not deductible.

The superior care we offer aims to prevent or reduce the need for specialty referrals and hospitalizations. When those types of care are needed, we will work with the hospital team during your stay. Depending on the level of care and expertise you need, we may rely on those specialized health professionals to manage your treatment.

Dr. Dan will be able to advise you via a telecare appointment, and some health issues can be resolved by that alone. If further medical attention is needed, Dr. Dan will be able to advise you on where and how to seek that.

Yes, absolutely! Your membership includes 24/7 text, phone, or email access to Dr. Dan. Your health doesn’t stop at 5pm, so why should your healthcare?

We keep the highest standards of privacy. We are never required to provide any third party with a copy of your records unless you specifically ask that we do so.

Direct Women’s Health is only accepting adolescents and adults at this time.

The monthly membership is $100. This includes:

• 24/7 text/phone/email access to Dr. Dan
• 30-60 minute appointments (or longer if needed) 
• User friendly portal where you can self schedule and edit appointments
• Women’s health visits including your annual exam 
• Lifestyle and nutritional counseling
• Discounts on certain supplements 

The membership can be canceled at any time.

If patients would like to have an annual gynecologic visit without being part of the membership, the cost is $300 for a 60-minute visit. The price includes ordering labs (the cost of the labs themselves can be placed through your insurance).

Acute care costs $175 per visit. This includes 1 follow-up communication via either phone, text or email within 4 weeks of the initial visit.

Dr. Dan’s father was on 17 medications when he died. He’d already had a quintuple heart bypass and a below-the-knee leg amputation due to diabetic complications.
